I love Christmas. It is, hands down, my most favorite time of the year. I love the smell of cinnamon and gingerbread, I love the full lit houses and traditions like decorating the tree and telling the story behind each ornament, or new traditions like that sneaky elf of ours, Jack.Because this time of year is especially busy for my business I decided to start my Christmas shopping crazy early this year. I was 90% done before Thanksgiving. It was around then that I started thinking about doing something special for my 2014 & 2015 wedding couples. As most of you know I made the decision a few months ago to focus my business on wedding photography. My greatest passion is in documenting the day that two people officially begin their life together. I knew pretty early on in this gift giving thought process that I wanted to give a picture frame ornament. I decided on the perfect handmade gift. Accented with the grey & red colors of my brand logo, personalized to each couple and filled with an image from either their wedding or engagement session. By the time that the ornaments were complete and the prints were ordered and shipped by my professional lab, weeks had passed. In the midst of recovering from my tonsillectomy surgery, I shuffled into the post office with my husband one morning last week and we packaged and shipped ornaments off. I was so excited for my couples to receive their little surprise and hopeful that they would all hang it on their family tree and remember this special time in their lives each year as they hang it again and again. As early as the very next day I started to see Instagram and Facebook images from my couples who were getting their gift. Thanks to social media, I received more from giving this small gift to my clients than I ever could have imagined. It was a wonderful reminder of why I LOVE what I do, and how blessed I am to meet the amazing clients that come into my life. Sometimes words are just words…but sometimes the right words from the right people can change an entire day, outlook, or life. Thank you to my clients & friends who have shared such sweet words with me upon receiving these in the mail. I can not say how much I appreciate each and every one of you!! Here are just a few of their posts that brought me JOY!
“Day 64: Not only do I absolutely love the work that my wedding photographer April has done for us so far, I love that she doesn’t see me as a source of income and is genuinely interested in my fiancé and i. She gave this to me yesterday and I love it so much. I had gotten excited thinking that joseph and I could actually do a married Christmas ornament this year, only to realize that we can not do that until next year (yay for wedding planning around christmas and forgetting what day it actually is). I then got sad because I was so excited to finally be able do that. Cue april and her very sweet self and she makes us our very own engagedornament!! And it’s with one of my absolutely favorite pictures of my babylove and i!! Thank you april for everything you have done to make our journey as an engaged couple one of the best. We both appreciate all that you have done very very very much. ”

“Our wedding photographer is better than yours! But seriously we couldn’t have picked a better person to capture one of the most special times in our life! Thank you April Ranew for such a sweet gift! We love it!! We love and appreciate you!”
For their engagement session, Kaci & Tony decided to revisit the spot where they shared their first date. It was a perfect fall day and Brick Pond Park in North Augusta, SC was covered in the colors of the season. Kaci and I knew one another years and year ago from growing up in church together. We just happened to bump into each other at a bridal expo earlier in the year. It was such a joy when she and Tony decided to trust me with capturing this very special time in their lives. I can see from the way that they look at one another that they are sole mates! So excited for their 50s themed wedding next year.
