I met Brandon & Kristiana less than a year ago while photographing the wedding of their dear friends, Josh & Megan. Shortly after, Brandon deployed in service of our country & Kristiana missed him like crazy!! Before his homecoming, she contacted me about a special session to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. I was ecstatic because I just knew this was going to be a fun session. What I wasn't expecting was having one of my very favorite sessions ever. It was epic. Check it out...

Tiny AND strong.A blessing to his parents; named in honor of his big brother Evan.He has a big sister too, and I hear she's very excited to meet him. I'm pretty sure he can't wait either!
I have been waiting for months to meet Zachary & Caroline! They booked me last year for their upcoming September 2015 wedding, but both lived out of state at the time. Now that they’ve made it to their new home in Georgia, I was so excited to do their engagement session. I always have a great time photographing my couples, but these two were so much fun to capture. They brought along their baby pup Theo as well and we all four explored the Savannah Rapids area together. It was cool out, and the fog made for some unique and beautiful backgrounds. Here are some of my favorites.
A few months ago I was asked to participate in the Hello Beautiful bridal expo in Augusta, Ga. It was the first expo of the new year and we were anticipating lots of excited newly engaged couples from the holiday season. This is only my second ever expo. The first was an outdoor event, with unlimited vendors and a very different feel. This expo was selective and I knew that some of my favorite wedding vendors would be represented. There’s a first time for everything, and we all usually walk away from a first event learning lots. From my first expo it was clear to me that although I love my logo, I am a more colorful gal then the gray and red that was my brand. So with the upcoming expo on my mind I set out to jazz things up.Here’s my old business card
AND here is my NEW one which I must say, I’m in love with!
After I had my brand’s new color palette I went into overdrive changing everything over from my website and blog to my business cards and marketing information. I enlisted the help of my good friend and event planner Lelia Hebert with Rare Pearls Events & Rentals, and we went to work on a booth that would blow my first expo efforts out of the water. Yesterday was the day of the show and in the midst of the craziness I was only able to grab a few cell shots of my booth. Here is a comparison between my first expo and yesterday's display.
From the massive wall which beautifully displayed a few of my favorite images, to the hand made banners and floral arranges, each element was so important. As Lelia said, “it’s all about the details!”The expo itself was a huge success. I met bride after bride, all beaming with excitement at the wedding madness that surrounded us. The show was held at the Julian Smith Casino, an open and airy wedding venue in downtown Augusta. Each bride received a sticker and attendees all got a mason jar glass with their pick of sweet tea or flavored water. My favorite dj, Mike Stephens with M&S Productions and the very creative Diane Bush with Beyond Usual Cakes were also there. Thank you to all the brides, grooms, mothers, fathers, sisters, and friends who stopped by our booth! I can’t wait to welcome some new couples into the ARP family!I also want to show some love for my husband and son. My husband Nicholas and I have been married just over 3 years. He has been with me every step along the way of starting and growing my photography business. This expo challenged our abilities, but he put up with my many, many…..many requests and with his help I got it all done. My precious 6 year old son Kaden had to deal with my increased stress level as well, and he jumped right in to help. Kaden stuffed bags with cards and helped me select my favorite images to display. I am so lucky to be surrounded by these sweet fellas who add to my successes. Thank you, thank you!!
Joseph & Lizzie “tied the knot” on December 28th 2014 at the Savannah Rapid’s Pavilion in Evans, Ga. Superstition says that rain on the wedding day means fertility and cleansing. Well these two had plenty of rain on this foggy grey day. It didn’t stop them from getting outside for portraits in between the showers though. Joseph & Lizzie shared their first look along a pathway overlooking the Savannah River. Lizzie was beaming with excitement to reveal her beautiful princess wedding gown to her groom. The bride’s Father, Steve, officiated the ceremony, working in many of their favorite disney movie quotes and literally “tying the knot” as a part of their services. After the ceremony the couple headed out for a few more portraits, then joined their guest at the reception for their first dance as husband and wife. Next they had a delicious dinner catered by Fatman’s cafe and Mike from M&S Mobile Productions kept the party going for hours. The couple treated their guests to a s’mores buffet and hot chocolate bar, complete with coffee mug gift favors. So much thought and love went into their wedding day, as the bride & her mother Leanna made the flower arrangements and decor as well. This spunky couple and their wonderful family & friends left a lasting impression on me. I am so thankful for this job! Lizzie & Joseph – it was such an honor to document your wedding day. I wish you both a lifetime of love and adventures together. I hope you enjoy this slideshow preview!
